Introduction

I wanted to create this pattern, because I saw a lot of different amigurumi bee patterns online and I thought they were so cute. The only problem is, I did not find one quite to my liking, so I decided to create one myself.

I wanted a bee with lines that have the same width and with wings that are thicker. After a couple of versions, I think that I landed on the perfect one!

Materials

  • 5 mm hook
  • Stitch markers
  • 6 weight yarn (in this pattern, Sweet Snuggles™ Lite Yarn by Loops Threads)
  • Safety eyes
  • Polyfill

Pattern notes

This pattern is worked in rounds, so it is important to mark the last stitch of each round with a stitch marker.

If no number is provided in front of an stitch, do 1.

The pattern is using US terminology

R16 : 6 dec. (6)

Wings(make 2)

To make a wing, we need to make 2 pieces and attach them together. So there will be 4 pieces in total to makes 2 wings.

Use white yarn.

R1 : 6 sc in magic ring. (6)

R2 : 6 inc. (12)

R3 : (sc, inc) x 5, 2 mc (17)

For the first half, cut the yarn and secure it by pulling on it.

For the second half, don’t cut the yarn. Take the first half and put the wrong sides facing each other.

Now crochet through both pieces. Do sc in the sc (15 sc) and sl st in the sl st (2 sl st). The goal is to have a flat side.

Assembly

Attach the wings on the body one by one so that the right side of the wings face each other. If needed, put the wings in place with safety pins so that they are stable. You want them between the eyes viewing from the front and in the middle of the body looking from the top. You can use the images at
the top of the pattern as reference.

Finally, if you want, add a little smile and pink cheeks for added cuteness. This step is not necessary, but give a very good look to the final product.
